With Alice Paine’s upcoming retirement in January 2008, the Board of Trustees formed a Search Committee and has retained the services of Waldron & Company to conduct a nationwide recruitment.
Reporting directly to the President, the Executive Director is responsible for the day-to-day operation of KCBA, for the supervision of the staff, for managing KCBA’s finances, for the development and implementation of the budget, and for public relations and outreach. The ideal candidate will be a passionate leader with an entrepreneurial spirit, with demonstrated abilities to work with a wide variety of individuals as well as to facilitate and implement a clear vision and strategy.
The Executive Director commands a very visible position in the legal community and in the community at large, communicating with members of the media and the public frequently. The Executive Director will possess highly developed communication skills, and the ability to make critical decisions while maintaining a high degree of flexibility and integrity.
A Bachelor’s degree is required. An advanced degree in a discipline relevant to the position would be beneficial. A minimum of seven to ten years of experience in executive level management is expected, including responsibilities for staff, budgeting, and oversight of program development.
