Lend a Hand and Help Hungry Children

Are you interested in becoming more involved in our community? Are you passionate about social justice issues? Do you have a special interest in working to alleviate childhood hunger in Washington? Lawyers Helping Hungry Children (LHHC), a non-profit organization of local attorneys, is actively seeking to add members to its Board of Directors and wants to hear from you!

LHHC was started in 1991 by attorney Robert Mussehl, and for 16 years has continued its mission of ending childhood hunger in Washington. LHHC’s first honorary co-chairs were U.S. Senators Brock Adams and Slade Gorton, Washington Supreme Court Chief Justice Fred H. Dore, and Washington Attorney General Kenneth O. Eikenberry. Since then, LHHC has been supported by numerous public figures, and recent keynote speakers have included WSBA Past-President Ron Ward and Attorney General Rob McKenna.

LHHC works closely each year with the WSBA, the King County Bar Association, and the local judicial and legal community to raise awareness about childhood hunger. LHHC’s primary fundraising activity is a fall luncheon event, with proceeds supporting several local charities that are directly engaged in childhood hunger relief: Northwest Harvest, The Children’s Alliance, Seattle Summer Sack Lunch Program, CARE, the Emergency Feeding Program, and Within Reach.

If you are interested in learning more about this opportunity to get involved in LHHC, please contact the organization’s chair, Marc Lampson, at marc@ulproject.org. LHHC is hosting a summer reception that you are welcome to attend:
