The King County Prosecutors & Defenders squad defeated the Washington [Attorney] Generals in an all-public sector clash to claim the 2007 Seattle Lawyers Basketball League title.
On May 30, the No. 6 seeded underdog Prosecutors & Defenders (who finished the season 8-5) prevailed over the No. 1 seeded Generals (11-2), 40-39, in a low-scoring slugfest. The Generals overcame an early 8-0 deficit to lead 18-16 just before the half, when the Prosecutors & Defenders scored on a last-second inbound play to knot it up at 18.
Neither team gained more than a two-point advantage during a nail-biting second half. The Generals seemed to have the title locked up when they bombed in a three-pointer with four seconds left to take a one-point lead. However, in a play reminiscent of the gold medal game in the 1972 Olympics, the Prosecutors & Defenders executed a full-court inbound play to score a last-second layup and secure the championship.
The champion Prosecutors & Defenders squad is made up of Damon Agnos, James Bible, Alfoster Garrett, Nathan Harris, Brent Hart, Steven Kim, Gyasi Ross, Craig Sims, Nathan Webb and Rob Wyman.
