Breakfast with Champions
Paul Rusesabagina, the former manager of the luxurious Mille Collines Hotel (more popularly known as Hotel Rwanda), and recent Presidential Medal of Freedom award recipient, will speak at the King County Bar Foundation’s annual Breakfast With Champions in April.
Come hear the compelling story of Rusesabagina’s courage and resourcefulness in saving the lives of more than 1,200 of his neighbors during the 1994 massacre of nearly a million Tutsis and moderate Hutus in Rwanda. Rusesabagina’s story was the subject of the acclaimed movie Hotel Rwanda staring Don Cheadle and is the subject of Rusesabagina’s soon-to-be released book, Ordinary Man. Rusesabagina is expected to share with us the source of his courage to act when so many people could not or would not. Don’t miss this opportunity to be inspired.
Mark your calendars for the April 3 Breakfast With Champions at the Westin Hotel at 7:30 a.m. Check in will begin at 7:00 a.m. and tickets are $50. The proceeds from the breakfast will fund pro bono legal representation in King County, the Future of the Law Institute, and diversity scholarships for students at the University of Washington Law School and Seattle University Law School.
