On Monday evening, February 28, The Triple Door in Seattle will host a gala fundraiser to support the Kevin Jung Family Support Fund Trust. The Trust, established at U.S. Bank in the aftermath of the tragic shooting of Bellevue attorney Kevin Jung on November 3, has raised almost $40,000.00 as of early January. Funds will be used to defray uninsured medical expenses and will assist Kevin’s wife and two boys with ongoing living expenses.

Kevin Jung, age 44, a prominent business and immigration attorney in the Korean-American community and the sole support of his family, was assaulted in the parking lot of his office while leaving to attend a court hearing, sustaining a serious head injury. The alleged assailant, Mill Creek attorney William Joice, is incarcerated in King County charged with first-degree attempted murder. Miraculously, Kevin survived the assault and is now in long-term nursing home care following a month-long hospitalization. He faces a long and uncertain road to recovery.

The Fundraiser will feature entertainment by The Joe Koplin Jazz Quintet and several of Seattle’s best known jazz musicians, including singers Greta Matassa and Becca Duran, and jazz trumpeter and tenor saxophonist Jay Thomas. All entertainers are donating their talents to support the Jung family. The event will also feature keynote speakers, and live and silent auctions.

The $50.00 admission price will include a full dinner. All net proceeds will go directly to the Kevin Jung Family Support Fund Trust.
