The Community Legal Services Committee of KCBA would like to recognize Jeannie Goshgarian as October’s Volunteer of the Month. Ms. Goshgarian is honored for her dedication and work with the Volunteer Attorneys For Persons With AIDS/HIV (VAPWA) and the AIDS Legal Access (ALA) Program. VAPWA\ALA is a KCBA program that refers people living with HIV to pro bono or low-fee attorneys (VAPWA) or regular fee attorneys (ALA) in a wide range of practice areas.
Ms. Goshgarian has volunteered with the program since 2003 and continues to assist VAPWA/ALA clients throughout the year. Her commitment to ensuring comfort, dignity and justice in the lives of persons living with HIV in King County has been demonstrated through working with numerous clients in establishing powers of attorney, healthcare directives and draft wills as well as when possible offering assistance at the monthly will clinic. In addition, Ms. Goshgarian has assisted VAPWA clients with debt collection and bankruptcy issues, and earlier this year served as the interim program manager for the program.
Congratulations to Ms. Goshgarian for being selected the CLS Volunteer of the Month. Thank you for your continued efforts to assist persons living with HIV in King County.
