The 2004 Pictorial Membership Directory will be a very special edition. Our publishing agreement with the new vendor, the Portland Daily Journal of Commerce, allows us to include a FREE copy of the directory with KCBA membership for the 2004/2005 membership year. Look for a copy of the 2004 edition of the directory to arrive in mid-September (after you renew your KCBA membership for 2004/2005 this coming June).
Our goal this year is to include photos of ALL of our current members. To do that, we need two things from you: current membership in KCBA and your photo.
If you aren’t a member now, you need to join or renew your membership for the remainder of the current membership year (7/1/2003 - 6/30/2004). If you have never been a KCBA member, we are offering you a very special deal - membership from now until 6/30/2004 for half the normal price. Please call Josie Bell at (206) 267-7016 to get more information and to receive an application packet as a “new member”.
If your membership renewal forms are still at the bottom of your very full in-basket and your membership has lapsed, you can still renew your membership for the remainder of 2003/2004. To renew online, go to www.kcba.org, click on “About KCBA” and “How to Join.” Or call Josie Bell at (206) 267-7016 to request an application packet for a “renewing member.”
Next, we need your photo. Photos can range in size from passport size to 8” X 10”, either color or black and white. Digital photos should be at least 300 dpi, 150 line screen. Electronic photos can be emailed to Julie Gardner at julieg@kcba.org; hard copies can be mailed to her at the following address: Julie Gardner, King County Bar Association, 1200 Sixth Avenue; Suite 600, Seattle, WA 98101. Please print your complete name, your WSBA bar number and your telephone number on the back of your photo, and include that information in any emailed photos you send to her. If your address has changed recently, you can also email her that new contact information as well.
In addition to member photos and their contact information, the Directory also includes a section indexing members by their areas of practice-a valuable medium to indicate your areas of expertise or when referring clients and cases. In past years we have charged a per-listing fee for inclusion in this “Areas of Practice” section. This year you may include up to six areas of practice for a one-time fee of $30. A special insert to use to sign up for this index will be included in the April and May editions of the Bar Bulletin, and more instructions will follow.
REMEMBER: The 2004 directory is a listing of our members for the current membership year. If your membership for 2003/2004 has lapsed or expired, your contact information will not be included in the upcoming edition. It is not too late to renew your membership. Check our website (www.kcba.org) or call us today (Josie Bell at (206) 267-7016) for more information.
