The King County Bar Association Pro Bono Services department works with over 1300 volunteer attorneys, paralegals, law students and community members to provide free legal assistance for low income King County residents. Click on a link below to learn more.
General Legal Advice
Provide FREE 30 minute consultations with an attorney at 34 locations across King County, including locations specializing in debt, bankruptcy, and family law issues. Attorneys determine whether the client has a legal problem, suggest possible options, and provide appropriate referrals. NLC attorneys will not represent you in court. NLC is a limited legal service and should not be considered a substitute for representation.
Debt and Bankruptcy
A free debt education workshop that informs people about the legal issues surrounding debt and bankruptcy.
Neighborhood Legal Clinics
Provide FREE 30 minute consultations with an attorney at 34 locations across King County, including locations specializing in debt, bankruptcy, and family law issues.
Offer eligible clients direct representation with Chapter 7 bankruptcy and debt defense matters.
Estate Planning & Public Benefits
Offers eligible clients direct representation with estate planning and SSI/SSDI overpayments.
Assists low-income King County residents who are married or unmarried parents with contested family law cases (dissolution, petitions to establish a parenting plan, or paternity cases) where children are at risk due to domestic violence, child abuse, neglect, or alcohol/drug abuse.
Provides free legal representation for relatives and other caregivers seeking custody (also known as third party custody) of a child/children.
Assists clients with non-contested marriage dissolutions (divorces that are agreed or in which the other party will not respond), parenting plans and child support in non-contested cases when the father has already been determined.
Provides free legal help to eligible low-income tenants facing eviction in King County.

For help with vacating criminal records call the Neighborhood Legal Clinics to make an appointment with an attorney who will determine your eligibility for direct representation.
Pro Bono Services does not provide legal help with Criminal Law cases.
