On Saturday, May 10, 2008 the Future of the Law Institute celebrated the end of the program year with a graduation ceremony for the students, families, mentors, and school liaisons that all help to make this program possible. The students were recognized with certificates of completion while the mentors and school liaisons were recognized with certificates of appreciation and flowers. While lunching on delicious barbecue food, students also anxiously waited to hear Sandy Brown, FLI Board President, call out numbers on the raffle tickets for which several door prizes were given away, namely three $25 Starbucks gift cards, one $100 gift card from Barnes and Noble and a Zune, the grand prize, was also given away. Scholarship applications were given to current FLI students who are seniors, as they are now eligible for a $250 scholarship upon enrolling in community college or a 4-year university.
The graduation ceremony was short and sweet; inspiring and encouraging.
Congratulations FLI graduates – YOU are the future of the law!
