The King County Bar Association will appoint a new delegate to the ABA House of Delegates when current delegate Peter Ehrlichman’s term ends in August. KCBA seeks nominations of potential candidates interested in pursuing this prominent leadership opportunity. You may self-nominate.
Candidates must be members in good standing of both the King County Bar Association and the American Bar Association throughout the term as delegate. Past service with KCBA sections, committees or on the Board of Trustees is preferred. The term for the ABA delegate is two years; candidates who would be able to serve for two consecutive terms (four years) are preferred.
The KCBA ABA delegate will be expected to:
- Review the recommendations and reports that are published and distributed to all ABA House of Delegates members several weeks before the convening of the House of Delegates at the mid-year and annual meetings;
- Determine which of the matters contained in those recommendations and reports should be brought to the attention of the KCBA Board of Trustees and meet with the Board to receive direction and authorization;
- Travel to the mid-year and annual meetings (cost of travel will be borne by the ABA delegate); and
- Report the results of ABA House of Delegates deliberations to the KCBA Board.
All nominations should include a cover letter discussing the candidate’s experience and abilities, as well as a candidate résumé. For consideration, please send materials to Andrew Prazuch, KCBA Executive Director, andrewp@kcba.org, by August 31.
