The Board of Trustees of the Young Lawyers Division (YLD) invites nominations of young lawyers (defined as those in the first five years of practice or up to the age of 36 by Dec. 31, 2008) for the 2008 Outstanding Young Lawyer, an award presented at the June KCBA Annual Awards Dinner. The award recognizes:
- Substantial contributions to the legal profession of a legal or non-legal nature, and/or
- Substantial contributions to the King County Bar Associa-tion, and/or
- Substantial contributions to the community; and/or
- Demonstrated excellence in legal practice.
To nominate a young lawyer, please send a letter and a copy of the candidate’s résumé to KCBA, attn: Brandie Silva, 1200 Fifth Ave., Suite 600, Seattle, WA 98101. You also may fax it to 206-267-7099 or send it to BrandieS@KCBA.org The deadline is March 14.

Board Nominations
The YLD Nominating Commit-tee is seeking nominees for four trustee positions and one lay member position on its Board of Trustees. The Committee seeks broad diversity for the Board, including ethnicity, gender, practice area, firm size and geographic diversity.
Trustee nominees must be members in good standing of the KCBA and under the age of 36 as of December 31, 2008, or in their first five years of law practice. (Staff will confirm eligibility from the names presented.) Lay member candidates must adhere to the same age requirement. All positions have three-year terms, beginning July 1.
Ballots will be mailed to members on or about May 15. Ballots must be returned by 9 a.m. on June 3.
