King County Superior Court would like to cordially invite and welcome young lawyers and law clerks to observe the courts “in action” at the downtown Seattle King County Courthouse and the Maleng Regional Justice Center in Kent on Wednesday, June 23.
Attendees will have the opportunity to tour the juror assembly rooms and hear the juror orientation, and then to spend the morning observing civil and criminal jury trials that are in progress. There will also be an opportunity to meet Presiding Judge Bruce W. Hilyer at the Seattle courthouse and Judge Mary Roberts, chief judge in Kent. The judges will entertain questions and answers at the end of the morning tour.
The tours, which are open to pre-registered guests only, will begin at 8:15 a.m. and end at noon.
If you would like to participate in the Seattle Courthouse tour, please email Judge Hilyer’s bailiff, Lee Walters, at lee.walters@kingcounty.gov; for the Kent tour, email Court Operations Manager Sandra Ogilvie at Sandra.ogilvie@kingcounty.gov. The number of attendees will be limited due to space limitations inside the courtrooms and we are limiting the number of attendees from one single law firm to no more than five.
If you have any questions regarding this invitation please call Lee Walters at 206-296-9096 or Sandra Ogilvie at 206-205-2588.
