ETHNIC DIVERSITY IN THE LEGAL PROFESSION

ETHNIC DIVERSITY IN THE LEGAL PROFESSION: Promotes a racially and ethnically diverse legal profession. Responsible for mentor programs and outreach programs to students of color. The committee also recommends minority scholarship grants to the Bar Foundation for the county’s law schools. The committee is a forum to exchange ideas and information relevant to attorneys of color, but all are very welcome.

Activities: Puts on Book of Business seminars for associates in private practice, puts on Pathways to Law program to mentor SCCC students and introduce them to the law as a profession, reviews and recommends allocation of diversity scholarship funds to area law schools, reviews legislation for its impact on ethnic diversity, plans CLEs and seminars.
