The King County Bar Association was honored to celebrate its Quasquicentennial Anniversary in conjunction with the Annual Awards Dinner on Wednesday, June 22nd. The event included a special video presentation featuring several past presidents' reflections on the bar’s rich 125 year history. In addition, the event honored the distinguished achievement of this year’s award recipients and the occasion was marked with a gigantic “125 Year Anniversary Cake.” The annual, “Passing of the Gavel,” tradition indicated the commencement of Joe Bringman’s tenure serving as KCBA President for 2011-2012 while noting the accomplishments our now Past President Mark Fordham, KCBA President for 2010-2011. Awards were presented to Thomas Kelly of K&L Gates as Outstanding Lawyer and to Jamila Johnson of Schwabe Williamson & Wyatt as Outstanding Young Lawyer. In addition, the Helen M. Geisness Award was presented to J. Richard Manning, the William L. Dwyer Award was presented to Honorable Susan R. Agid, Ret., and the Pro Bono Award was given to William Braun. See the Award Videos.
