    January 25, 26, 27, 2007 (Must attend all 3 days)
Rainier Square Conference Center-1301 Fifth Avenue, ATRIUM 3rd Floor, Seattle

Annually, KCBA offers the 3-day training component required for application and certification to Title 26 Family Law Guardian ad Litem Registries. Anyone is welcome to register for this training, regardless of intent to apply for appointment to a GAL registry. Please note, however, that completion of this training course does not guarantee appointment to a registry. All application requirements, professional qualifications and background checks must be approved in addition to completion of this training prior to appointment to a registry. Completion of the training is only one component of the application process.

Please be sure to check with the registry manager in your county (usually located at the Superior Courthouse) to make sure you will likely qualify for appointment before registering for this training, if that is your intent. Only partial refunds are permitted for cancellations through 5:00pm January 19, 2007 (A $50.00 administrative fee is retained). Thereafter no refunds are permitted, but substitute attendees are most welcome.

Furthermore, this is not the same training as Title 11 Guardianship GAL training, Adoption GAL training, SGAL training, Professional Guardian training, or Title 13 Dependency Training, and will not be applied to certification processes related to those registries.

Lastly, sign-in and sign-out is required each day and attendance is required all three days. Registration staff is required to withhold certificates of completion for any attendee that misses 15 minutes or more of the training (whether due to tardiness, cell phone usage, returning late from lunch etc.). Registration staff is specifically prohibited from making any exceptions for any reason, even emergencies. Withheld certificates will be directly forwarded to the county registry of choice. Only the Registry Manager in each county may determine the result (if any) of missed time. Please contact your County Registry Manager if you have any concerns or questions.
