WHO WE SERVE
The Newcomers Resource Project provides free legal assistance for eligible individuals who meet all the following requirements:
Immigrant, refugee, or limited English speaking, regardless of immigration status
King County residents
Low-income
WHAT WE DO
Wage Claim Project assists individuals who are being denied their wages or who have other wage and hour problems with their employers. Eligible clients are referred to a volunteer attorney for assistance. The project provides interpreters.
Project staff and volunteers are available to hold workshops for social service agencies and community groups on employment law and wage claim issues.

Guardianship when the parties agree
Legal Advice only - Three Neighborhood Legal Clinics provide 30 minutes of advice and consultation with a volunteer attorney by appointment.
Legal Education Workshops for social service agencies and community groups in a variety of legal issues (immigration, employment, estate planning, housing, taxes, etc)
Interpreters provided for all services.

WHERE, WHEN, and HOW TO REACH SERVICES
To be screened for eligibility for a volunteer attorney, call (206) 267-7055 Mondays and Wednesdays 1:00 to 4:00 PM or Tuesday and Thursdays 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM or email CLS@KCBA.org with "Newcomers" in the subject line.
For 30 minutes of advice and consultation at a Neighborhood Legal Clinic, make a separate appointment.
HOW TO PREPARE
Gather all related paperwork.
Decide on the desired outcome or goal.
Identify all deadlines.
Tell the intake screener about these deadlines.
Be prepared to tell the history of your legal issue to the intake screener over the phone.
