LAARK lawyers offer free legal advice and referrals to kinship caregivers over the phone. LAARK is open to Washington state kinship caregivers and caregivers outside the state who have legal disputes in Washington. LAARK does not represent caregivers in court.
Legal Advice and Referral for Kinship Care (LAARK)
LAARK provides guidance and legal advice to kinship caregivers in Washington on matters that relate to their ability to meet physical, mental, social, educational and other needs of children and youth in their care. Topics include minor guardianship, the child welfare system, and other legal issues related to providing kinship care.
LAARK ofrece orientación y asesoría legal a cuidadores familiares en Washington sobre asuntos relacionados con la capacidad para cumplir con las necesidades físicas, mentales, sociales, educacionales y de otro tipo de los niños y jóvenes a cargo. Los temas incluyen la custodia del menor, el sistema de ayuda social del niño y cualquier otro asunto legal relacionado con el cuidado familiar.
