King County District Court Announces Judge Pro Tempore Training

King County District Court is seeking letters of interest from attorneys who would like to attend a judge pro tem training. Interested attorneys are invited to send an email of interest to Todd Bandazy at todd.bandazy@kingcounty.gov. To be considered for the upcoming pro tem class, an attorney must be an active member in good standing with the Washington State Bar Association, have a minimum of five years of civil or criminal experience as a practicing attorney, and have a currently sitting King County District Court Judge as a sponsor. King County District Court encourages applicants of diverse backgrounds to apply.

Washington Supreme Court Issues 2017 State of Judiciary Report

The report features comments from newly installed Chief Justice Mary Fairhurst, who notes that Washington is fortunate to have a judicial branch filled with people who will never give up trying to make a difference and trying to improve justice, in ways big and small." With over 100 attendees, the 12th Annual YLD Winter Soirée was a huge success! Everyone enjoyed hors d’oeuvres and drinks at the Washington Athletic Club in celebration of the 13 deserving finalists of the Outstanding Mentor Award. Christine Masses, Miller Nash Graham & Dunn LLP, and Gwendolyn Payton, Lane Powell PC, were selected as the 2016 Mentors of the Year. Both women are outstanding role models both inside and outside the office. They are constantly finding opportunities for their new attorneys to gain experience and give back to the community.
