Statement on Protests Demanding Justice After Death of George Floyd

Since our organization's founding in 1886 to stand in solidarity with Chinese immigrants being denied due process rights, the King County Bar Association has stood for access to justice for everyone in our community.  We condemn the horrific murder of George Floyd and we stand with all in our city, county, state, and nation who exercise their constitutional right to nonviolent protest against this murder and the historic racism in our nation's criminal justice system. We pledge to work with our legislators, judges and the public we serve to bring meaningful change. We renew our pledge to help build a profession that reflects the community in which we serve and earns our community's trust.
