Mission Statement

The Mission of the King County Bar Association Young Lawyers Division is to further the objectives of new and aspiring lawyers by representing the diverse interests of the Division’s members to the Association and the legal community, creating opportunities for continuing legal education, mentoring, and networking, as well as addressing the needs of the community through pro bono and volunteer service.

Black Lives Matter v. City of Seattle.  Please join us for a panel discussion on the current litigation following Seattle Police Department’s use of tear gas, pepper spray, and other less-lethal weapons against BLM protestors. The panel will feature attorneys working on the case, including Robert Chang, Professor and Executive Director of the Fred T. Korematsu Center for Law and Equity at Seattle University, attorneys from the ACLU of Washington, and plaintiff/law student Alexandra Chen. They will tell their stories, which involve tracking down witnesses and potential plaintiffs during the protests to bring First and Fourth Amendment claims against the City of Seattle.
