WILLIAM R. TAMAYO (Bill Tamayo) was appointed District Director of the United States Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, San Francisco District in June 2015. He oversees the investigations and operations of the EEOC in Northern California, Northern Nevada, Oregon, Washington, Alaska, Idaho and Montana. He served as EEOC Regional Attorney from June 1995 through June 2015 and directed the District’s litigation and legal program. From 1995-2005 the District’s jurisdiction included Northern and Central California, Hawaii, American Samoa, Wake Island, Guam and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands.

JUAN C. VACA (Juan Vaca) began his federal career in 1995 as a rescue crewmember at US Coast Guard Station Golden Gate Bridge. While serving at Station Golden Gate, Juan was regularly deployed as a bilingual law enforcement officer to conduct counter-narcotics operations off the coast of Mexico, Panama and Columbia. After Juan left the Coast Guard, he attended UC Berkeley and earned a B.A. in political science. In May of 2006, Juan re-entered federal service and began his career as an Investigator for the EEOC and worked out of the Commission’s San Jose Local Office. In 2010, he took on a new role and joined the EEOC’s ADR unit and became a staff Mediator. Over his career, Juan’s facilitated over 1000 mediations that have resulted in more than 17 million dollars in settlement monies. In August 2017, Juan was promoted to Supervisory Mediation Coordinator for the EEOC’s San Francisco District Office where he oversees all EEOC Mediators and mediations conducted in the Pacific Northwest.
