Last month, I wrote about the growing movement to reform how legal services are provided, first starting in Europe and now making a fast foothold in the United States. Three states so far — Arizona, California and Utah — have implemented task forces to make recommendations on regulatory changes.
In California, it is important to note that the task force was set in motion and issued recommendations without seeking initial input from local bar associations. There is further discussion regarding the California task force report and the response and objections to the recommendations below.
