Do you think much about books? I get a little sad when I see random volumes of the Federal Reports or the U.S. Code Annotated being used as decorative objects in a pub or on somebody’s living room shelves. I suppose that’s a better fate than being pulped or going to a landfill, but it still seems sad to me because they have so much meaning beyond a pretty cover.
