I had never cried during a movie, but I did this winter when I took my daughter Elora to see the film “On the Basis of Sex.” The movie dramatizes the early career of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.
Elora is 9 years old. As a little girl she identified with strong and heroic characters from the stories she saw in movies and on TV, and they were most often male.
