What You Need to Know about District Court’s New Case Management System (CMS)

As the largest court of limited jurisdiction in Washington, King County District Court (KCDC) processes about 250,000 matters per year. Until about 15 months ago, most of those matters were handled through a computer system that is now about 40 years old (and, many matters still are handled that way — but, not for much longer).

In October 2017, KCDC launched Phase I of our new eCourt case management system (CMS), which requires e-filing of civil cases. This year, we will launch Phase II, for e-filing of criminal cases, infractions and all other case types.
