In a blog post last year, Robert Ambrogi posed the question, “Are We in the Golden Age of Legal Research Innovation?”1 For years Westlaw and Lexis have dominated the legal research market. With regard to case law, in particular, it’s been difficult for smaller companies such as Casemaker, Fastcase or Versuslaw to compete with the curated content created by Westlaw and Lexis or with their ability to lead with research technology innovation.
