I bought new reflective bands to wear to and from work to celebrate the onset of fall and in recognition of the fact that it’s dark when I go to work and dark when I come home. The walking home part normally isn’t so bad, but people who are driving in and out of the downtown parking garages at 6 a.m. appear surprised to be sharing the sidewalk with a pedestrian. My hope is that increasing my visibility makes me less of a target.
