A Response to ‘Eugenics: Buck Trends or Fall Under a New Bell Curve’

Recently, the King County Bar Association Bar Bulletin published an article titled “Eugenics: Buck Trends or Fall Under a New Bell Curve.” What this article casually mentions, but fails to fully address, is the traumatic history of eugenics in the United States. 

This history is rooted in ableism, anti-Semitism, homophobia, sexism, racism and xenophobia. The pseudoscience of genetic superiority was supported and protected by laws through the enactment of harmful policies in the early 20th Century.
