More Progress in Protecting DV Survivors from Gun Violence

In the January Bar Bulletin, Judge Anne Levinson (ret.) wrote about the lethal risk that domestic violence survivors face when their abusers have access to firearms. She described the creation of the first-of-its-kind Regional Domestic Violence Firearms Enforcement Unit in King County, as well as new court, law enforcement, and prosecutorial practices to strengthen implementation and enforcement of Washington’s laws that prohibit domestic violence abusers from possessing firearms, other dangerous weapons and concealed pistol licenses.1
