Superior Court Modifies Jury Service; Welcomes New Colleagues

Over the years, King County Superior Court has worked to increase juror responsiveness. Examples include decreasing the term from two weeks to two days, dividing the county into juror districts to allow a juror to go to the closest courthouse, and online check-ins that give jurors more predictability as to whether they are needed.

Now, after an initial pilot, the Court (which also provides jurors for District Court) has reduced its jury service to a one-day/one-trial term at both courthouses. Fresh jury panels are now summoned to report each Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Previously they were...
