March 2018 Bar Bulletin
More than 760 guests filled the ballroom at the Washington State Convention Center on January 12 to celebrate the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s legacy at KCBA’s annual MLK Luncheon.
Guest speaker Theodore M. Shaw gave a stirring speech that provided insight into his personal connection with the King family and the relationship among American culture, our government, and people of color. “The African American experience has been the core and central experience in the definition of this country,” Shaw said. This and other insights provided ample food for thought for all in attendance as KCBA continues its commitment to diversity in the legal profession.
