The King County Bar Foundation was honored last fall to receive a $10,000 bequest from Judge Gerard Shellan, who passed away on April 1 last year at the age of 95. He served as a King County Superior Court judge from 1977–1989 and was a longtime mediator later in life. In his will, Judge Shellan directed that the money be used “for the benefit of minority law students in law schools located in Seattle, Washington.”
The money has been added to the King County Bar Foundation’s permanent Endowment Fund, where income generated from the fund can be directed to ongoing scholarships for many years...
