As judges, our day-to-day work consists of duties not always visible. We rotate a weekly “on-call” phone so that we are available nights, holidays and weekends to review proposed search warrants, requests for mental health detentions, and to consider probable cause to hold youth in detention.
During court breaks, we review the electronic “Ex Parte via the Clerk” queue to consider and approve ex parte motions filed electronically throughout the day. Outside of court hours, we listen to the recordings of commissioner hearings in consideration of motions for revision.
