After Charlottesville, which doesn’t have quite the ring of “Selma” as a watershed event, a former city desk editor at a newspaper where I used to work in another life, issued the following Facebook post:
Display of the so-called “Confederate” flag, except in museums and other historical displays, should be against US law, just as display of the swastika is against German law. The “alt-right” is American Nazism and should be treated as such.
