Lawsuit Seeks To Uphold Transgender Military Rights

Ryan Karnoski, a Seattle native, has wanted to serve in the military since 2009. Karnoski identifies as transgender. He is currently registered with the Selective Service System, but due to the ban implemented on August 25 by the Trump administration, he is no longer able to enlist.

Staff Sgt. Cathrine Schmid has been serving in the Army since 2005 and is currently stationed at Joint Base Lewis-McChord.
