Domestic violence is prevalent in Washington, with 15 percent of Washington adults reporting that they have experienced domestic violence in their life. Women, people with low income, and Black and Indigenous communities experience domestic violence at a significantly higher rate. Domestic violence causes significant harm to the physical and mental health of survivors and their families, undermining their economic stability, health, and overall quality of life.
