Zounds, what a Supreme Court term! All the drama you could ask for, including the thrill of knowing the ending before it occurs. (Like Oakland A’s baseball.) Add a dash of hypocrisy, a wink and a nod, and interventions at steakhouses and you’ve got the essence of an outstanding novel. I would be remiss, therefore, and it would be a shame, not to make more specific remarks; so, let’s take a look back at the October 2021 term’s First Amendment religious liberty cases, which represent (almost) all that is wrong with the current state of the Court.
