New Guidance
On October 6, Gov. Jay Inslee issued new guidance for Phase 2 and 3 library services. While the news media made it sound like Washington public libraries would be throwing open their doors, in reality, the new guidance maintains most of the current restrictions.
The governor’s guidance states, “[I]n general, libraries should continue to facilitate services through the mail or via curbside pick-up where possible to limit interaction between staff and customers within enclosed space. Libraries should continue to utilize the Phase 2 Curbside Guidance where applicable.”
