Ensuring compliance with state and local court rules is an essential task for any attorney’s office. Thankfully, in regular times, there is generally plenty of notice of impending rule changes. Unfortunately, COVID-19 makes these unusual times, with offices not only dealing with the human consequences of the “new normal” but also scrambling to adjust their procedures to rapidly changing rules and directives. These changes are not only on the federal, state, and local levels, but also vary courtroom-by-courtroom within each jurisdiction.
