In King County, families are falling through a gap in legal services. For a family of two in King County, gross earnings between $33,000 and $66,0001 classify them as being of “moderate means,” or between 200% and 400% of the federal poverty guidelines (FPL). These are individuals and families who could not suddenly produce $400 if they needed one in an emergency. At least, not without sliding into debt.
