Attorneys Standing Up Against Exclusion

As we celebrate the King County Bar Association’s 130th Anniversary during 2016, the bar reflects on its founding to sanction a small band of attorneys who would have denied due process to Chinese immigrants in the 1880s.

While 21st Century America has made tremendous advances to prevent such incidents from occurring again, the bar must remain vigilant to ensure that our laws promote justice for all. During this special program held on May 11, 2016, three Seattle attorneys who stand uptoday and defend immigrants’ rights, women’s reproductive rights, and voting rights, shared reflections on their work. Presenters included Llewlyn Pritchard (Helsell Fetterman LLP), JanetChung (LegalVoice), and David Perez (Perkins Coie LLP). KCBA President Kim Tran (Microsoft) moderated the program.

Note: This program is approved for .75 CLE credits in Washington.
